When I was just 10 years old, I received my first death threat in school and another one two years later when I was 12. • People didn't ask how my day went or how I was doing. I got treated like I wasn't human. • I didn't have any friends and felt like I was on the outside looking in, wishing there was a way inside. • As the outsider, over time, I eventually started to believe the things that were said about me and given the circumstances...I believed I wasn't worth a spot on this planet. Because everybody had somebody, except for me. I was depressed...and I didn't wanna be here anymore. • On a late summer day a year after I graduated school I received news that somebody from my town had commited suicide. When I found out who it was, I didn't really know what to say or do. It was one of my old classmates I went to school with for 10 years. There was a news article about it because he took his life publicly. It said that two cab drivers tried to help him because they heard his screams for help, but it was too late. His name was Peter. • Since 1937 an estimated number of 1.700 people jumped off of the Goldgen Gate bridge in San Francisco, trying to end their own lives, but there are a few who survived and all of them felt instant regret when their hand left the railing and their feet left the platform. In that moment they realized that every single one of their problems was changable. • I came out of depression 5 years ago and I know everything is changable. • So if I can ask you for one thing, it is to please stay. • I know our problems can feel as heavy as skyscrapers sitting upon our shoulders, but please believe that things can and will change. They can and will get better. You may hold something inside of you that the world needs, that may change somebody's life and too many people have taken their love, their creativity, their thoughts, words, dreams and even inventions into the grave with them. Please don't do that. Please stay. Live full, die empty. You being you, that is your superpower and you are wanted here. There is a place for you here and just because you haven't found it yet, doesn't mean that it is not there, trust me on that one. It's an honor to share this planet with you.
